No matter which route you take, we are only a leisurely two or three hour drive up highway 19, the Inland Island Highway. Or, if you have a little extra time, leave the Inland Island Highway at Parksville and take the scenic highway 19A along the coast. The extra hour of travel time will be rewarded by the scenery.

Oversized Vehicles
While all BC Ferries can accommodate over size vehicles, such as RVs, space is limited and there may be delays. RVer's may want to consider the Tsawwassen to Nanaimo ferry. This is the primary service for trucks crossing to Vancouver Island. While ferries on this route do not have all the amenities of the other routes, they are comfortable and meals are available.
